Sacred Hearts English Medium High School is an initiative of the Missionaries Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary. During 90s, Rev. Fr. Angelo Terraciano and Fr. Antony Attumaly were actively engaged in vocation promotion in different parts of Andhra Pradesh. During their visits to the State they came in contact with the Redomptorists Fathers at Tenali, who helped them. It was Rev. Fr. Tony Mascharnas CSSR who proposed our fathers to begin a mission centre in Guntur Diocese. Subsequently, Fr. Tony recommended MSSCC Congregation the then Bishop of Guntur, Most Rev. Dr. Gali Bali, who willingly invited us to open a missionary presence in the diocese. Endowed by missionary zeal of St. Gaetano Errico and with the help of Fr. Tony, the congregation purchased a piece of land at Kuchipudi village which is about 7 KM from Tenali town. In 1994, Most Rev. Dr. Gali Bali, the Bishop of Guntur bifurcated Tenali parish and erected a new parish at Kuchipudi and entrusted to the Missionaries of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary.
Rev. Fr. Gorge Tharakunnel MSsCc was appointed the first parish priest and superior of the community. Kuchipudi was as a poor village with minimum facilities. Children had to go to far off places for education. In response to the situation and with the objective of providing quality education and employment opportunities to the youth, an English medium school, Telugu medium tuition centre, and a balwadi school were started. Thus, the Sacred Hearts English Medium School was born on 29/06/1994.
This institute began from the scratches and the humble beginning has developed over the years and become a full-fledged school that provides the ambience for the children from Kuchipudi and surrounding 26 villages to pursue their goal of good education. We thank Almighty God for His graces and providence.
Sacred Hearts envisages accomplishing the mission of providing quality education and serves the people of Kuchipudi with the motto of “Shaping Mind and Soul” and prepares the brighter children for the future. Children are formed to pursue knowledge, wisdom, love and values to live as good citizens in the society. The school has 100 % results for the SSC examination from the beginning of the school.
